You may have heard of GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, appearing in your foods. A GMO is an organism that has been altered in a lab using genetic engineering, meaning it doesn’t occur traditionally in nature.
For our Non-GMO line of products, Grassland has partnered with a handful of farms that have spent years converting their agricultural practices to produce feed that is grown from seeds that have not been genetically modified.
Grassland is the first full line of butters completely verified by the Non-GMO Project and we couldn’t be mooooo-re excited about that.
The quickest way to see if your product is Non-GMO Project Verified is to look for the orange butterfly. This seal is one of the most trusted among consumers, and, according to a study done by the Non-GMO Project, the only “highly meaningful” label for consumers looking to avoid genetically-modified organisms.
Products like Grassland Non-GMO butter with the seal have been evaluated by independent inspectors and accredited testing labs. This ensures products have systems in place for quality assurance and traceability. To learn more about the Non-GMO Project Verified standard, click here.
We like to say our Non-GMO butter is never bioengineered because we are proud to be a company that relies on fresh cream straight from the farm. None of the ingredients used to make Grassland Non-GMO butter contain bioengineered organisms.
We believe it’s important that there are choices for every kind of consumer! We want to provide a butter option for consumers who look to buy other natural products that are not genetically engineered by scientists.
