Frozen Apple Butter Margarita

Materials

Apple Butter:

  • 2 tbsp Grassland Unsalted butter
  • 6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (recommend Red Delicious)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Margarita

  • 2 ½ cups ice
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 4 oz tequila
  • 1.5 oz triple sec
  • 3 tbsp apple butter

Garnish

  • Optional sugar and cinnamon rim
  • Limes, sliced
  • Apples, sliced

Instructions

For the Apple Butter

  • Place the apples in a slow cooker.
  • Add the sugars, butter, cinnamon, salt and vanilla to the crockpot. Mix well.
  • Cook in the slow cooker on low for about 10 hours, stirring every few hours.
  • The apple butter should be thick and dark brown. Remove apple butter from the crock pot and use a blender to puree the apple butter until smooth.

For the Margarita

  • Rim glass with lime juice and dip into sugar and cinnamon mix.
  • Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour blended mixture evenly amongst glasses. Top with ice.
  • Garnish with lime and apple slices. Enjoy responsibly.
