Butter Grog

Materials

  • 1 ½ tablespoons Grassland butter
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 lemon peel
  • Peel and juice from 1 orange
  • 1 inch piece ginger root sliced
  • 1 ½ ounces 1 shot rum

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a medium-size saucepan.
  • Add apple cider, brown sugar, cloves, cinnamon, lemon and orange peels, orange juice, and ginger. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then remove the pan from heat.
  • Add rum. Let the liquid steep for at least 30 minutes.
  • Reheat to serve warm.
